Joy Cross

Fr. John Gibson was my priest in Pascagoula, Mississippi.  After my husband was transferred to New Orleans, I found out that Fr. John's wife had bone cancer.  I wanted to send her a cross to encourage her through this difficult time.  While looking through my small stock of wooden crosses, the JOY cross kind of popped out!  You know what I mean?  It stood out among the others.  I was floored and amazed.  You see, Fr. John's wife's name was Joy!  Now I understood why God had so clearly placed the image of the Joy cross in my mind to make.  It was meant for her.  He wanted her to know that she wasn't alone.  She would be surrounded with angels.

The year flew by and I unfortunately didn't follow up on how Joy was doing.  If I didn't ask about her, then she was healthy!  She wasn't.  When I finally called the church office about her, she had passed.  As sad as I was to find that out, I had peace in my heart.  I knew without a shadow of a doubt that she was now one of the angels!

I feel so loved by God by being used in a way that allows me to reach out and touch other people's lives!  I wouldn't trade my life for anything!
